Overview
This project involved machining a fully functional aluminum clock using only manual equipment — including a mill, lathe, and laser cutter. Every feature was cut and fitted by hand without CNC assistance.
Tools Used
- Bridgeport vertical mill
- South Bend engine lathe
- Laser cutter (for clock face and detailing)
Process
The base, gears, and housing were machined from 6061 aluminum. Tolerances of ±0.002” were maintained on rotating components for proper alignment and smooth motion.
